Our client is One of the leading groups in Cyprus.
The Automation Engineer (as the Team Leader) will design and implements, and maintains automated systems to improve efficiency and reduce errors in various processes, He ll be responsible for creating and managing automated solutions, from initial design and programming to testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
-Automation System Design & Development:
Design, program, and develop automation solutions using appropriate programming languages and tools, with a strong emphasis on KNX-based systems.
-System Integration:
Integrate automation systems with building functions such as lighting, HVAC, shading, and security to ensure seamless operation and smart building performance.
-Implementation & Testing:
Install, configure, and thoroughly test automation and smart building systems to ensure functionality, reliability, and compliance with project requirements.
-Process Optimization:
Continuously analyze and improve system performance, efficiency, and reliability through optimization of automation processes.
-Maintenance & Technical Support:
Provide ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for installed systems, ensuring minimal downtime and long-term functionality.
-Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
Diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Training & Knowledge Transfer:
Train team members and end-users on system operation and maintenance, and provide clear technical guidance when required.
-Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, IT, and operations teams to develop and implement automation strategies aligned with business and project goals.
-Documentation & Compliance:
Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, ensuring all systems comply with project specifications and industry standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
-Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
-Certifications: Relevant certifications in automation tools or platforms (KNX certification is highly advantageous).
-Experience: 2–5 years of experience in automation, control systems, industrial engineering, or smart building technologies.
–Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in KNX programming (ETS software) is essential.
- Proficiency in electrical control systems, instrumentation, and process control.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and system schematics.
–Additional Skills:
- Experience with robotics, IoT, or cloud-connected automation is considered advantageous.
- Familiarity with smart home technologies and system integration will be beneficial.
-Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities, with a problem-solving mindset and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
