A Business Development (BD) job description involves driving company growth by identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, expanding market share, and increasing revenue through market research, lead generation, networking, negotiation, and collaborating with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute growth strategies. Key duties include finding new clients, analyzing trends, creating business plans, and nurturing client relationships for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
-Market & Opportunity Analysis: Research industry trends, competitors, and new markets to find potential growth areas.
-Visits to construction sites, engineers, architects, and technical companies for the purpose of informing and promoting the company.
-Lead Generation: Identify and qualify new business leads through outreach, networking, and referrals.
-Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with potential and existing clients, partners, and stakeholders.
-Strategy Development: Create strategic plans for market entry, sales growth, and new product/service positioning.
-Negotiation & Sales: Pitch products/services, negotiate contract terms, and close new deals.
-Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, product) to align strategies and support growth.
-Reporting: Monitor progress, analyze data, and report on business development activities and forecasts.
